9 is International eTwinning Day, celebrated alongside Europe Day.
eTwinning is an European platform for school cooperation that enables teachers and students to carry out joint educational projects online.
It operates under the Erasmus+ programme and it is coordinated by the European Commission.
eTwinning is a modern and safe way for schools to collaborate that:
• Combines education with technology and intercultural dialogue,
• Develops future-ready competences,
• Inspires teachers to use creative, collaborative approaches in teaching.
Main goals of eTwinning are:
• Developing key competences (language, digital, social),
• Supporting innovative teaching methods,
• Promoting international cooperation,
• Encouraging tolerance and openness to other cultures.
